Dr Frank Raineri said to John the other day after perusing ‘The Below Ten Thousand Way’:
“It’s like Pete is here in the room with us!”
That’s the biggest compliment a reader can give an author.
Frank, an anaesthetist and keen fly fisherman, knows the value of centring himself in order to ply his craft.
Too much distraction or too little focus can destroy the intrinsic value of his cast.
Whether he is in a theatre or in a river somewhere out in the wilds, he knows he has spent too much time, energy and effort to get where he is to let a little thing like distraction from the task at hand get in the way of achieving an authentic result.
“Below Ten Thousand!”
It’s not too much for Frank to ask;
And it’s not to much for the authentic clinician to give.
